Description
As a clinical psychologist board certified in Cognitive Behavioral Psychology, Dr. Ralston provides Evidence-Based Treatments for adult women who, as children or as adults, have experienced domestic violence, physical or sexual assault (abuse, rape, molestation), sexual harassment, bad or manipulative relationships, miscarriage, other personal or interpersonal traumas, motor vehicle accidents, or other serious, distressing, or threatening events. Experiencing these kinds of events sometimes leads to a variety of symptoms such as increased fear, avoidance, irritability, guilt, shame, low self-esteem, deficits in assertiveness, and changes in how one views self, others, the world, and more. Dr. Ralston regularly treats all of these symptoms. A particular area of focus in his practice is treating trauma-related guilt, which is often signaled by beliefs and statements such as “I should have (thought, felt, or acted differently)…” or “I could have (thought, felt, or acted differently)… and then (the negative outcome / traumatic event) wouldn’t have happened.”
